 kids Bath Time:
  • While kids are playing in the bathtub give the toilet a quick clean, restock the spare toilet paper & put a new hand towel out.
  • As soon as kids are done with there bath wipe & rinse the tub and rinse any bath toys that were used.

Your Shower Time:
  • 5 min before your shower spry some cleaner on your shower walls. scrub walls as you take your shower.
  • When you get into the shower take a brush with you and give it a good scrub.
  • After dressing take a little time to put everything away and wipe down the counter top.
  • After each shower squeegee your shower door.

More Tips:
  • Use an old toothbrush to clean mold around the plug hole and buildup around sink fixtures.

  • Line your trash can with a plastic bag. This will help it stay clean. (I use shopping bags for this)

  • Once a week give you bathroom a really good top to bottom clean.

  • To Prevent water spots clean with viva mirror wipes then use regular car wax over the screen and tiles. the water beads off. do this about 1-2 times a year.

  • To discourage mildew growth, increase the amount of air circulation and light. Use the bathroom fan during your shower and keep running for at least 30 min after and open the window.

  •  Every month or two, give the pipes a good clean to keep them clear of grease, oil, and hair clogs. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain, followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar. The mixture will foam up. Let stand a few minutes to dissolve fatty acids, then pour boiling water down the drain to wash out any clogs.

  • From time to time wash your shower curtain, place in wash on gentle and the hang on clothes line to dry in sun.

Tip of the Day- Black ring on your stove stop

Question from a reader: "I left a pan on high on my stove top, and now there is a black ring on my glass stove top. I have tried to get it off but it will not come off. What can I do?"

Ultimate Housewife's tip:
1.) Rub the stain with a silicon spatula; small circular motions will loosen debris and fade the color.
2.) Make a paste with 4 tablespoons of baking soda plus a little water and spread it on the stain.
3.) Place a warm damp rag on top and let it sit for 30 minutes.
4.) Wipe the area clean.

If the stain persists, make another paste using 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of distilled vinegar. Let the mixture sit for about a minute on the stain, scrub it in with a microfiber cloth, then remove the residue with a wet cloth.

The next time you clean the stove, apply a glass cook top cleaner to the stove top, then polish with a paper towel.

Hope this is helpful.

Have a Neighbors Messy Yard in your Face?

Everybody has one, that neighbor that has a messy yard. There is not to a lot you can do, but there are some things you can try.

1.) Is the mess a health and safety issue? Is it attracting vermin's or creepy crawlers? Is the neglect attracting vagrants? Well then you need to deal with the issue right away. Find out if your town's regulations address the matter. Many municipalities have ordinances that govern property maintenance. Then take action: snap a photo of the offending house, bring it to the proper office at City Hall, and ask the authorities to enforce their own laws.

2.) Before confronting your neighbors, engage them in conversation to learn more. Maybe your neighbors is struggling with finances or illness. If so maybe you can offer to help them work in the yard.

3.) If you have kids that want a little money for work, have them make a little flyer with a price on it and give it to the neighbor. This one always seems to work.

4.) If all else fails, there is nothing more you can really do. Try building a fence or planting a hedge to protect your view.

Garage Safety Tips

Is your garage really as safe as it should be?
70% of homeowners use the garage as the primary entry point into their home. Make sure yours is safe with these tips.

1.) Keep tools, chemicals and sharp objects in locked cabinets, or at least always out of the reach of children.

2.) Certain common household chemicals can ignite just by coming in contact with another. Be sure to read warning labels and expiration dates, and store each securely in its own location.

3.) Consider installing shelving or cabinets, then label each. You'll quickly find what you're looking for while protecting the items and keeping them safely away from children.

Cleaning Your Handbag

Even If you think Your handbag is clean is very dirty and germy. Imagine the times you may have placed it on the floor while going in a public bathroom (No No don't do this, There is a reason they put the hooks behind the door). think about it then you come home you set it on the table or bed gross.

1.)So for this reason get some disinfectant wipes and wipe over the outside of your handbag.

Now that your handbag is disinfected let Tidy the inside.
Handbags always have way to much stuff in the. Receipts, kids toys, water bottles, baby bottles, snacks, trash and so much more. Like me do you have to much in there for time to time?
Dose your phone ring and you can't find it?
Do you loose your keys?
well then its time for number 2

2.) go through your handbag and remove any trash & items you don't need in there

what do you really need in your handbag?
here are some examples of what you may need:

  • Notepad
  • Pen
  • Keys
  • Mobile Phone
  • Chapstick
  • Sunglasses
  • Water bottle- Its a good idea to always have water on you, get the little bottles to keep in your bag.
  • Women Products- Tampons, Pads, Wipes, Oder Spray, Pampren (Keep in a cute little zippered bag, NOT a Clear Bag Gross or Lose in you Handbag Gross)
  • Travel size brush
  • Travel Size hair spray
  • Hair Tie
  • Anti-bacterial gel
  • Advil- I cant not have this with me.
Remember just because its on this list don't mean you need it these are just examples!
The Rule is if you have it in you Handbag but  you never use it then it should not be in there.

I keep things like nail files, hand moisturizer, first aide-kit, store bags in my car rather than my handbag.

My Favorite Cant Live Without Things in My Bag:

This is the Notepad I have in my Handbag. it fits nicely. Its perfect for when I am out and need to write something down, Like Phone Numbers, To-Do List, Post Idea's, Appointment's etc... When I get home I add it all to my Home To-Do list.

EOS Chapstick is always in my bag, car, night stand, Junk drawer etc... I love it.

A Little 2oz Bottle of Honey. Yes I know i little Funny. I love my Tea, But I love it so much more with a little Honey In it, But its crazy how many Places I go and they don't have any Honey So here I have it Problem Solved. Plus its just so cute!

How to Disinfect a Broom

Brooms do so much of the cleaning work that we sometimes forget that they need a good clean too. Today I will explain a very simple method for broom cleaning that will have your broom in terrific clean and disinfected shape again in no time.
  1. Take all of the hair out of your broom.  If need be, cut some out.
  2. Wash the broom in detergent and warm water.
  3. Rinse out, using cold water.
  4. Hang up in the sun to dry.  Lean the broom head up.  Drying it in the sun will kill off any left over bacteria.
  5. Now don't forget to put it away. See, that was not very hard at all was it? Do this once a month if you use your broom a lot.  Otherwise, do it every 2 months.
Tip: to help keep your home clean and disinfected, don't use your broom outside. Have one broom for inside and one for outside. This will help keep gross germs out and help keep your floors cleaner.

Have any Tips?
Tell me how you clean your broom. comment below or email me at contactus@ultimatehosuewife.com
