My Essential Oil Journey!

Whether you are new to the blog or have been a long time reader, You can see by many of my post, I love using Essential Oils. I didn't always love essential oils. I kinda had negative thought about them and didn't really like them, I knew people that were way over bored with them that the smell would make me sick, and I kinda always rounded it up as a hippyish kinda thing.

*This post contains affiliate links to essential oils and other products I talk about in the post. Purchasing them here from my blog is no extra cost to you but I do earn a commission that helps in the cost of running this blog. Thanks for your support! Read full disclaimer here.

But I started to learn that there way so much to Essential Oils that I didn't know, and there not that bad when you know how to use them.

It all started back when I was having a lot of Anxiety and Depression and I read that there are some Essential Oils that could help, So I tried some and I found they did and they did so much that I didn't stop there I started researching other ways I could use them and man oh man there are so many. Now I use them for all sorts of things, Sickness, Wellness, Cleaning, Pets, Beauty, Cooking and more. I started sharing my love for oils on this blog by showing you all how you can use them in DIY Cleaners and more.

{Organizing} My Organizing Boxes

In Past Challenges I have Talked about Organizing Boxes! I love my Organizing Boxes it make things a lot easier for me. As I'm cleaning out a cabinet, shelf or closet I can sort items into the boxes and then put the boxes away. it make the process a lot easier.

What Are the Organizing Boxes?
Bin's or some kind of storage container for the following items. But you want them to be a size that you can take around the home as you organize.

Here are the Boxes I have:

Keep Box: A box for everything that's in a room it does not belong in. A item that needs to be Put away in another room will go in this. or an item that does not have a home in the house but you want to keep it, it will go in here.

At the end of the day right before I go to my room for bed I will get my Keep Box and walk through the house and pick anything up that don't belong in that room and put it into my keep box, Then I will Put the box back into the Hall Closet where I keep it and then the next day I will empty the box.

If you have older kids this is a good chore for them. or at least make it a rule that once a day the go look and see if any of the items belong in there room.

Donate Box: An item that you no longer want or need but is still in working order for somebody else to use will go in here.

Sell Box: Items that you can sell if you are to have a garage sale or sell online.

Note: The rule with this box is that you must not keep items in here for very long you don't want it to get full and then you just have this box you are storing that just makes more clutter. so Make sometime and post them online or set the date for the garage sale.

The Bins don't need to be really big, so don't think you need the biggest bin you can find.
the size i use is about the size of 2 shoe boxes.

I have Created labels for you to cut out and tape to your Bins! To print them Click Here!

{DIY} Homemade Butter!

I love making homemade butter.
Lot's of times I will find a really good deal on heavy cream, when I do I like to use that to make homemade butter and butter milk.

it's a great thing to get the kids involved in, so if you have a little helpers have them help you!

today I thought I would show you how to make your own homemade butter and butter milk.

so let's get started!

What you will need:

  • 1 Quart Heavy Cream
  • 3/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • Mixer
  • large Bath Towel
Instructions:
1.) using your whisk attachment put your heavy cream into the bowl of your mixer, add the salt cover the mixer with the bath towel you will need this due to a lot of splashing trust me you don't want to skip this part.

2.) put your mixer on high and whip until it becomes whip cream turn off mixer and change your whisk to your paddle attachment cover again with towel, mix on high, the mixture will become liquid again with some small butter chunks.

(at this point the splashing will get bad so keep that towel on)

3.)keep mixing on high until a large clump of butter is made, there will also be a lot of liquid in the bowl that is butter milk. once the large clump is formed the butter is done.

4.) stranger buttermilk out of the butter and set aside for baking or place in a jar and store in the fridge. (I like to use a mason jar)

5.) take your clump of butter and using your hands pressed out the excess of buttermilk under cold running water until the water runs clear.

6.) shape the butter into sticks or balls.

Notes:

  •  the butter will last up to four weeks in the refrigerator you can freeze it also.
  • this butter is the best on bread and for baking
  • use the buttermilk to make buttermilk pancakes.

{DIY} Homemade Vanilla Fridge Spray!

I love Wiping down my inside of my fridge with

my Homemade Vanilla Fridge Spray, after giving my Fridge a good clean. It makes it smell so good.

What is Vanilla Fridge Spray? It's a Household Cleaning product, It's a food-safe disinfectant that also smells wonderful.

I would not use this as my primary cleaning solution because Rubbing alcohol won't kill all microorganisms. but it still is a wonderful touch up cleaner and deodorizer!

So How do You make it?

Here's how:

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/4 Cup Rubbing Alcohol
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
Combine all ingredients in a Spray bottle and The shake.
